David A Arnold has been comedy’s best-kept secret, until now. His new stand up special “I’m Trying to Help You” is due for release on Netflix and Showtime in March 2014. Arnold is also in development for his own sit-com with Executive Producer and comedy powerhouse, Kevin Hart. David’s had many successes in the stand up arena with performances like his self produced DVD in 2010 entitled “I’ve Never Heard of You Either!” Performances on shows like Russell Simmons’ “The Ruckus” on Comedy Central and dates with “Shaq’s All Star Comedy Tour” has helped to raise Arnold’s profile. When not on stage David finds ways to express his edgy yet funny point of view by doing his popular internet VLOGS he calls “Life With Dave”.
Arnold recently joined the writing team for the new Kelsey Grammer/Martin Lawrence sitcom due to air on the FX Network. David has also written on TV shows like The Rickey Smiley Show for TV One, OWNS’ “Raising Whitley” where David served as an associate producer. Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Meet the Browns where he wrote and landed a reoccurring role on the show as “Darnell” the irresponsible teacher. David also hosted the first season of TV One’s “Black Men Revealed” where he uses his sense of humor to bring real issues to the table between black men and women. David added Director to his list of accomplishments by releasing a series of his short films “Because My Stand Up is not Enough!”, “Til’ Death Do Us Part?”, and “The Garage Sale”, all which won awards at film festivals, including the Hollywood Black film Festival, the Pan African Film Festival, Boston Film festival and Santa Barbara Film Festival.
David has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, on Comedy Central’s Laffapalooza with Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer, The Tom Joyner Show, Baisden After Dark, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, BET’s Comicview, The Monique Late Night Talk show, HBO’s Entourage and Def Comedy Jam.
David’s fresh, edgy humor on life, love and family has earned him the title, “Today’s Modern Father” although he’s far from a Cosby.
Based out of Los Angeles, Arnold can be seen working out his stand up at clubs like, the Laugh Factory, the Comedy Union, the Comedy Store, the Improv and the Ice House. David A. Arnold is well on his way to being one of the industry’s best!
