Smithfield was founded in 2011 with a dream as big as their home state of Texas. Comprised of vocalists Trey and Jennifer, SmithField took the stage by storm with their memorable music and stunning harmonies. Having grown up together, their on-stage chemistry is undeniably genuine and natural. After more than a year of performing together, the duo headed to Nashville to start a new chapter in their musical career.
Country duos are a unique breed in the music industry. Two voices have to blend perfectly together, and that combination is often hard to find, even in two great singers. Against all odds, the duo has continued to persevere with their music and develop their sound, and found that with a lot hard work and passion that anything can be accomplished. After one year in Nashville, Smithfield had already landed opening gigs for established artists including Eric Paslay, Scotty McCreery, Jana Kramer, Dustin Lynch and Craig Campbell.
Mixing the heavily rock influenced background of Trey and the classical country tendency of Jennifer, SmithField creates a contemporary country sound that's different and compelling. After their debut music video for “Good Ol’ Days” made it’s world premiere on CMT, Trey and Jennifer celebrated a lifelong dream of performing on the coveted Grand Ole Opry stage in May of 2016. This led SiriusXM The Highway naming Smithfield as a Highway Find act and their lead-off single, “Nothing but the Night” soon hit satellite airwaves nationwide.
The success of their “Nothing but the Night” led to Smithfield being named an “Artist to Watch” by PEOPLE, Rolling Stone Country and the Huffington Post. SiriusXM continued to spin their upbeat anthem while “Nothing but the Night” sold more than 1.5K downloads per week.
Proving to be one of the fastest rising duo’s in country music, Smithfield’s current single “Hey Whiskey” is resonating with industry and fans alike. The cleverly written ballad hit No. 3 on the SXM Hot 30 Countdown and has garnered more than 3K downloads per week, 2 million Spotify streams, a Rebecca Creek Whiskey and Taylor Guitars endorsement and they have played the Grand Ole Opry 13 times. The music video for “Hey Whiskey” can be seen on CMT, GAC and The Country Network and is nearing 1 million views on YouTube.
Currently on the inaugural SiriusXM The Highway Finds nationwide tour, Smithfield is gearing up to release brand new music and continues to shatter industry norms with their undeniable talent, perseverance and natural chemistry. Not only will they be visiting 26 cities with tour mates Steve Moakler and Drew Baldridge on the SXM tour, they will also be playing several fairs and festivals across the country this summer and fall.
