Upon graduating high school, John King, a Georgia native, decided to arm himself with a music degree and went to study at the University of Georgia. It was during his time at UGA that the development of John’s musical footprint would really take shape. John and his band formed in Athens while attending UGA. “My time at UGA helped me tremendously,” John said with a very serious tone. “It made me realize I could make a career out of doing what I love.” John also recorded his first EP at the famous Studio 1093 in Athens and later sold out the Georgia Theatre.
In a short time, King has been making a name for himself in Country Music. John's debut radio single, “Tonight Tonight,” earned him his first Top 40 hit and was heard by millions of NFL fans while being used to highlight CBS network’s Thursday Night Football program throughout the 2014 season. In 2016, King also experienced his first #1 as a songwriter with a song called “We Went” which was recorded by artist Randy Houser.
He plays 150+ shows per year and, in the past year alone, has shared the stage with acts such as Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, and Little Big Town.
King has been writing and recording new music for a forthcoming project and launched the first single “I Still Pick Up” in October 2017. Listen to it here.
